Letting Children Lead: Jewish Parenting Lessons and Reggio Emelia Encounters the Talmud

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

What does Jewish parenting look like and what is the historical inspiration for our actions today? Is it possible to have children organically experience life and develop the Judaism we know, or does Judaism have to come from the Sages? We’ll take a gander at what it means to be a parent and what the Talmud thought parental responsibilities were. I'll juxtapose these ideas with current trends in education and Jewish education, so we can understand how children grow up Jewishly. You will leave with new ideas, props and toys that will enhance how we engage with children.
