When Jews March Off to War: How Should they Fight?

Over the centuries, civilizations have developed a web of "laws of war," designed to distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable behavior even during the most violent of conflicts. In this session we shall seek to discover whether such rules also exist in Jewish traditional teachings and to discuss how they might apply to contemporary Israeli military activity.  Texts will be presented in English.  No prior study background is necessary.
