Andrew Gottlieb
The Hollander Collection, LLC Curator of Judaica, Educator
Doral, Florida
Beyond his teaching assignments, Dr. Gottlieb is the curator for the Hollander Collection, an educational non-profit 501c3 organization. He has travelled extensively throughout Israel, Europe, the United States and Latin America, acquiring ritual and secular Jewish artifacts, each chosen for its role in retelling the story of our people. Many of these pieces are currently on display in several different venues throughout South Florida, communicating narratives of the Jewish experience through physical artifacts and the written word. Exhibitions currently on display are: The Lower East Side of New York (1880s-1920s), the Jewish-Cuban Experience in South Florida, Jews in American Politics, and The Jews of Persia Before 1935. His newest (and most rewarding) teaching assignment includes teaching Museum Curatorship, Collections Management, and Display Exhibitions at the Honors College of Florida International University. Interns from the program have participated in the development of the displays listed above. Dr. Gottlieb has a BA in Literature from New College of Florida, an MA in International Relations from Florida International University, and a PhD in Political Sociology from the Union Institute & University
