Sami Barth is a teacher and student of prayer, in particular: “what we say, when we say, how we say (sing) and most of all - why?” With rabbinic ordination from Leo Baeck College in London, Barth has served as a Dean and Professor at the Jewish Theological Seminary and the Academy for Jewish Religion, challenging and guiding rabbinical and cantorial students on their paths to becoming leaders. He has served as Rabbi of synagogues in Brooklyn NY, Austin TX and Gloucester MA. It is now his delight to serve as Interim Rabbi at Bet Breira Samu-El Or Olom in Miami. He has worked as a consultant to synagogues on their evolving pathways of prayer and is at work on the upcoming book, Subversive Prayer. Sami Barth is a devotee of white water kayaking and karate - each of which offer valuable insights into Jewish life and the whole endeavor of prayer.
